About A2346816

A2346816 is an adoptable female German Shepherd looking for a home at Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 4 days left, listed due to other. Adopting A2346816, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Intake Info: This sweet girl A2346816 was found laying by the road in West Palm Beach and was brought here on 10/18. No microchip and stray time ends on 10/23. Medical: She is an approximately 8-months-old, female German Shepherd who was found along Military Trail on side of the road. She has obvious ligature marks on her rear legs where they were bound so tightly that venous blood circulation was heavily restricted causing severe swelling of the lower legs and feet. The right rear leg responded quickly to medical treatment and is back to normal size and use with only some wounds above the hock. The left rear had two ligature marks and the lower leg and foot sustained nerve and vessel damage and restricting lymphatic drainage and is unable to use the leg/foot at this time. There is little to no sensation below the hock, but it is possible this will return with decreased swelling and time. She is getting laser therapy, massage therapy, and increased walks to reduce swelling and encourage lymphatic drainage and renewed blood flow. It is unknown whether these ligatures were on purpose or by accident. This dog is extremely sweet and patient, knows we are trying to help her but she requires more intensive and frequent care than we can give her in the shelter. On treatment for hookworms. Full medical processing is pending. Request to Rescues: This sweet young girl needs to leave with rescue so that she can continue her journey to recovery in a clean, calm and safe environment. She needs a follow-up with a private vet to determine a treatment plan and a home where she can heal and feel loved.
