Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 10/20/2026 Updating color due to NHO status. 10/19/2026 Dog was laying on bed, came forward with neutral body, softly wagging tail as handler opened door, allowed for easy leashing, exited kennel, ignored dogs in passing, loose leash to yard. Stopped to urinate, wandered yard, stopped to defecate, straining for a few minutes. Dog continued to explore yard with neutral body, still tail at spine level, approached handler when called, stood parallel to them and allowed all petting, almond shaped eyes, soft wag, pushing nose into handlers treat bag, demonstrated \"sit,\" slightly grabby with treats, stayed by handler for a few minutes continuing to solicit attention and treats, saw a bird in yard and began trotting toward them, wandered yard for a few more minutes, came back to handler for attention, followed them to catch pen with neutral body, loose leash walk back to kennel, walked in easily and removed leash by hand. 10/18/2026 Updating color to orange, full evaluation per OEC review. 10/15/2026 Nervous, handler has to go slow and allow dog to warm up. Did not initially want petting. Likes hot dogs. Able to vaccinate with light muzzle wrap restraint. Walked to kennel easily, removed leash without issue.
