Intake Info: This dog was placed in our night drop by P.B.S.O, we scanned him for a microchip & didn't locate done. We named this sweet boy Wheezy. Medical: Wheezy is 2 year old intact male dog who weighs 47lbs. Wheezy is UTD on vaccines & is heartworm positive. The following was noted by our vet - Sedated for SBD surgery, but cancelled due to thick greenish white nasal discharge and green ocular discharge. Also, dog is already higher risk surgery due to significant brachycephalic airway changes (very stertorous breathing, stenotic nares, etc.) and heartworm positive. Will need to recover from CIRD prior to surgery. At time of sedation, eyes cleaned of green ocular discharge. Bilateral cloudy appearing corneas, with some neovascularization, look like they may have a sticky film over the cornea. Stained both eyes and no true stain uptake like corneal ulcer, more like stain stuck to the film over the cornea, suspect possible dry eye vs feratitis/fibrosis from either entropion or facial folds rubbing on corneas. Fur appears pinkish at central neck and on limbs, skin between toes appears thickened but not severely inflamed at this time. Concerns that there may be some underlying skin disease or allergies. Facial fold dermatitis is present, cleaned facial folds at time of sedation. Staff Notes: Wheezy is a very happy guy who loves people. Request to Rescues: Wheezy is a handsome boy who needs urgent rescue. Wheezy will need to follow up with a private vet to address the following medical concerns - ocular issues, facial fold dermatitis, brachycephalic airway, heartworm positive, and CIRD. Wheezy is available for public adoption with a known medical form & a medical violation to ensure he receives the urgent medical treatment he so desperately needs. Please help us find Wheezy a wonderful placement where he will be able to receive treatment and surrounded by love & warmth.
