A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' Brisa greeted the runner with a wiggly body while soliciting petting. She was easy to leash and remove from the kennel, pulled lightly on leash while bypassing the other kennels, and was easy to collar. In the catch pen, her body was relaxed, her eyes were soft, and her tail was neutral. She entered the yard, and exchanged appropriate greetings with the other dogs. She engaged in play, but was easily overwhelmed by pushy playmates. She became defensive and over-corrective, but was easy to steer. After a while, she resumed play with the other dogs, maintaining a gentle-dainty playstyle. She solicited petting from the handlers. Brisa is tolerant of the other dogs, has a medium energy level, and prefers a gentle-dainty playstyle.
