A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' Dorthy A5805175 greeted the runner with a wiggly body, soft eyes, and a neutral tail wag. She was easy to remove, and she slightly pulled on leash. In the catch pen when she was introduced to the dogs her body was relaxed, her eyes were neutral, her mouth was closed and her tail was low with a soft wag. She was easy to collar and leash. She entered the yard and was slightly nervous during the greetings. She walked away from one of the dogs who was pushy and hovered around her. She solicited affection from the handlers. She began to play vow and ran around with one of the dogs. She engaged in soft gentle play with him. She was not kept in the yard very long (due to her age and weight). She was social with the dogs and would benefit best in a gentle/dainty yard. Behaviorally ok for public adoption, large calm dogs recommended.
