Kennel mate retreated to the front and dog stayed crouched with rounded back in back kennel. Handler lowered guillotine. Handler was able to drape large loop overhead and secure, dog was rounded in posture. Handler was able to guide dog out of ward independently and to nearby M&G room. Dog walked erratically on leash in a stop and go manner. Dog had difficulty navigating through laundry bins in hallway but was able to get into M&G room with guidance. Once in room handler attached leash extension and released dog. Dog began pacing room perimeter. Handler allowed dog time to decompress before attempting to call over. Dog continued to pace around room hovering nearest the window. Dog would stop and stare at handler with wide eyes and furrowed brows, lip licking. Dog defecated in corner when handler got up to clean dog darted into furthest corner and again stared at handler. Handler returned to chair, dog darted away. Handler was unable to make physical contact in anyway with dog during evaluation, no prosocial behaviors displayed. Handler retrieved leash and walked dog back to kennel. Handler attached clip leash and was able to remove leash without issue on return. Dog entered kennel without issue. 10/24/2026 Dog was laying at front of kennel with kennel mate, handler approached back of kennel as assistant went to the front, both dogs retreated to back of kennel, kennel mate slowly went back to the front and assistant closed divider. Handler spoke softly and approached back kennel door, this dog sat in back corner, hunkering low, tense, wide eyes, handler able to lean into kennel and gently drape leash over head, dog remained frozen in place. Handler opened door wide and encouraged dog to exit, dog would not come out, shaking, assistant brought kennel mate around to back, once this dog saw kennel mate she began to slowly move forward, then darted toward exit of kennel building. Dog had strong erratic pull to yard, alert, low posture. Once in yard dog and kennel mate would pace between opposite sides of yard, stayed side by side for entire eval. Dog had tucked tail, tightly closed mouth, ears alternating between pinned back then upright and forward when watching outside yard. Dogs stood at fence, watching people passing by, cleaning, etc. Handler would call to dogs, they would not approach, but would crawl under handler's chair in corner of yard, standing nearby to watch staff cleaning, alert, tense, handler pet this dogs back and dog rounded posture, tucking tail, turning head and running away. Handlers offered treats, this dog showed no interest, continuing to pace yard. Handler would give treats to kennel mate and pet them, this dog would stand nearby, remained alert, ducking away from petting. After a few minutes handlers picked up leashes, strong pull back to kennel, weaving around handlers as they added clip leashes, this dog walked into kennel at first but then pushed out as assistant tried to walk kennel mate to other side, handlers put both dogs in same side of kennel and removed leashes with clip leash. 10/23/2026 Dog was laying on bed, frozen in place, wide eyes, lowered head, would not approach handler, trembling. Requesting full evaluation. 10/21/2026 Timid, avoiding handler, seems bonded to male dog she came with, follows male dog. Applied muzzle for vaccines just due to her being so nervous. Allowed vaccines with light restraint. Walked to kennel.
