Max is an adoptable male Poodle looking for a home at Dallas Animal Services in Dallas, Texas. He is fully grown and small in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 3 days left, listed due to medical. Adopting Max, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

Max is a male dog experiencing multiple significant medical concerns, including chronic otitis (ongoing ear inflammation or infection), enlargement of the right hind limb (RH) thigh muscles, and keratitis of the left eye (OS), which may ultimately require enucleation (surgical removal of the eye). His chronic ear condition will require further veterinary evaluation and ongoing treatment to address the underlying cause and prevent continued discomfort and complications. Additionally, the enlarged thigh muscles warrant further diagnostic evaluation to determine the underlying cause. His left eye condition raises concerns for ongoing pain, inflammation, and potential progression, and surgical enucleation may be necessary to relieve discomfort and preserve his quality of life. The specialized diagnostic evaluation, medical management, and potential surgical intervention he requires exceed what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite his medical concerns, Max remains resilient and is doing his best while receiving supportive care. Max needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive comprehensive veterinary evaluation, continued treatment for his chronic otitis, further diagnostics for his enlarged right thigh muscles, and specialized ophthalmic evaluation with potential enucleation of his affected eye and appropriate postoperative care.
