On October 30th, just ahead of Halloween, this gentle, approximately two-year-old dog was brought in as a stray. Someone reported him after noticing a distressing sight: a tight, embedded collar cutting painfully into his neck, causing swelling around his face. We do not know how long this timid, frightened boy was left to wander alone, suffering in silence. The tight collar caused a deep, painful wound around his neck, but our medical staff were able to clip, clean, and thoroughly flush the injury to give him relief. He weighs 42 pounds and tested heartworm positive, which is a treatable condition. With proper care, he can make a full recovery. Because of the intense pain from his neck wound and his unknown past, his true personality is still hidden behind fear. Right now, he is timid and overwhelmed, but he desperately deserves a chance to learn what love and safety feels like. Ghosts and goblins might be out tonight, but this sweet soul has been living through a difficult ordeal and needs someone to help him turn the page. A life-changing difference can be made by providing a quiet, low-stress environment where he can decompress and heal. đŸ“‰Medical Notes 10/30/26 S/O: severely embedded collar with deep wound and face/neck swelling, high HW+ A: embedded collar wound/swelling, high HW+ P: clipped/cleaned/flushed neck wound, rx 200ml LRS sq/1.9ml cerenia sq/1.9ml convenia sq, rx buprenex 1.3ml bid x 5, rx rimidyl 75mg sid x 14, rx gabapentin 100mg 2 bid x 14
