Did not eat hot dog offered. Difficult to leash, kept avoiding the lead. Once leashed, dog walked right next to handler slowly. Was able to lead into new kennel and unleash easily. 8/2/2026 Dog was at front of kennel, wagging tail, panting. Appeared nervous of surroundings but remained soft towards handler. Easy to leash. Dog exited, walked straight to door, displaying perked ears and raised hackles when passing other dogs but did not attempt to engage. No issues on walk to play yard. In yard, dog stood close to handler, head low, nervous of surroundings. Allowed all petting and would roll over onto back, allowing belly rubs. No interest in treats. Occasionally explored but mostly stayed with handler. Due to high temperature, handler walked dog inside for a few minutes. Dog passed through doors easily, but hesitated to enter smaller room, lowered to belly, crawled forward towards handler when coaxed. Dog greeted two additional handlers in area, allowed them to pet, wagged tail. Dog laid down for a few minutes, drank water. Returned to kennel without issue. Removed leash by hand. *Dog should not be introduced to any other pets until end of 14-day decompression period. Potential adopters should be counseled on proper dog introductions, which must be slow and supervised. This approach is essential for the safety, comfort, and well-being of all pets involved.* 7/27/2026 Timid, tail tucked, allowed all handling and vaccines, did not want to walk, bucket to kennel, easy leash removal.
