A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' Nugget was lying on her bed with a relaxed body when the runner approached. She was easy to leash and remove from the kennel, pulled moderately on leash while bypassing the other kennels, and was easy to collar while soliciting petting. In the catch pen, her body was telexed. She entered the yard, and exchanged appropriate greetings with the other dogs. She engaged in gentle play with a timid demeanor, and solicited petting from the handlers. After a few minutes, she began to jump on the handlers, clinging to their legs and arms in an anxious manner. She tried to dart out of the yard anytime the gate was opened, and began to bark and jump at the fence. Nugget is tolerant of the other dogs, has a medium energy level, and prefers a gentle-dainty playstyle.
