Buddah

Buddah is an adoptable male Rhodesian Ridgeback looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He is a young adult and large in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Buddah, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

Evaluation Notes: Play Group - 1 of 2 kennel Dog displays sociability with all handlers by coming over to greet with a loose body and a wagging tail and walked to yard where he pulls heavily on leash. He is seemingly fixated on a female (A823238) in a nearby yard where he is unable to be redirected and vocalizes toward her while pulling on leash. He is walked into the yard where he continues to fixate on A823238 by maintaining a direct line of sight while vocalizing and pacing in yard with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears, and a low tail while jumping up onto barrier. He displays sociability with male and female dogs observed with by allowing them to greet him where he continues to fixate on A823238 with same body language. He is unable to adjust and repeatedly jumps up onto barrier seemingly attempting to exit yard. He is removed form yard and is returned to kennel where he continues to vocalize and pull heavily toward A823238. *The dog A823239 was fixated on is found to be in estrus.
