Inquiries sent directly to ACC will not receive a response. Pre-Screener Form Bentley is at risk due to behavioral reasons. He has been observed to have a very low threshold for arousal. During his previous stay in the care center, Bentley was observed to jump up on handlers frequently and head whip when contact was initiated. During his current stay, Bentley jumping and mouthing behavior has escalated in making contact with clothings and staff members arms/legs. Recently Bentley was returned to the care center due to similar behaviors. While loose in the previous adopter's home, Bentley would begin jumping and grabbing onto their clothing. Outside of these moments with handlers, Bentley has been observed to have a loose and wiggly body. Medically, Bentley is apparently healthy. Bentley has been observed to have a very low threshold for arousal. During his previous stay in the care center, Bentley was observed to jump up on handlers frequently and head whip when contact was initiated. During his current stay, Bentley was reported to begin lunging at the handler and attempt to bite their abdomen. Recently Bentley was returned to the care center due to similar behavior. While loose in the previous adopter's home, Bentley would begin jumping and bite their shirts. Due to the detailed behavior we recommend an experienced adult only home. Meet Bentley! Bentley is a 8 month old puppy who arrived at ACC as a stray, so his history is a bit of a mystery. What we do know is that this young pup is full of energy, curiosity, and puppy enthusiasm! Bentley loves to explore, play, and spend time with people, and he is ready to find a family who can help him learn, grow, and channel all that puppy energy in positive ways. My Ideal Home Bentley would thrive with an adopter who is excited to continue his training journey. As a young and energetic pup, he will benefit from daily exercise, enrichment activities, and positive reinforcement training to help him practice calm behaviors and good manners. With patience, structure, and plenty of playtime, Bentley is ready to become your lifelong adventure buddy. Good with Other Pets? Bentley's history with other animals is unknown, but he has shown interest in meeting other dogs while at the shelter. He may benefit from slow introductions and continued positive reinforcement to help him learn polite play and social skills. Good with Kids? Due to Bentley's high energy level and tendency to become overexcited, an adult only home is recommended at this time. He would do best with people who can help him practice impulse control and set him up for success as he grows into adulthood. Things to Know Bentley is a fun loving pup with a big personality packed into a puppy sized body! He can get a little too excited when greeting people and is working on learning that four paws on the floor gets him even more attention. Bentley loves toys, treats, and learning new skills, and with the right guidance, this energetic boy is sure to be a star in his new home.
