Coco
Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie (mix breed)
Urgent: Last Day
Scheduled: September 18, 2026
Reason: Other
Coco is an adoptable female Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie looking for a home at Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is fully grown and small in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to other. Adopting Coco, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.
Intake Info: Coco was found loose in Lake Worth Beach and an ACO was called to pick her up from the caller. It was reported that she had injuries to her legs. The ACO noted some wounds to her body, but she did not seem to be in pain or distress. Her microchip had two potential owners. We spoke with one of them who now lives out of state and said Coco was rehomed years ago. We were unable to make contact with the second person. We sent a notice in the mail, but sadly no one has come forward to redeem her. Medical: 6-year-old, spayed female canine who has a sweet temperament. Dental calculus and gingivitis causing significant periodontal disease. Left systolic heart murmur grade II/VI, bronchovesicular sounds in all lung fields. She's a little thin. A laceration on medial aspect of left hindlimb was closed with intradermal sutures. Thinning hair throughout the body and appears to have lenticular opacity (cloudy or darkened area of the eye lens) but does appear to see. Vaccinated and heartworm negative, HS-3. Request to Rescues: Little Coco needs urgent rescue help as her medical needs exceed our capacity for care. She'll need dental cleaning and maybe extractions, as well as a heart murmur workup with a private vet. This sweet lady needs a safe and loving space where she will feel cared for and rested.
