URGENT PICKUP NEEDED BY 09/14/26 Intake Info: Casey (A2336591) was owner surrendered to our shelter. Medical: Casey is an 8-year-old boy who is heartworm negative, fully processed, and neutered. He has been observed to have some generalized hair loss and a urethral tear. Casey also has a severe bilateral ear infection and grade 3/4 periodontal disease with significant tooth attrition and several fractured crowns. Volunteer Notes: Casey is a sweet boy who loves water! He enjoys playing with the water hose and will gator snap at the water, but not people. No aggression was observed. He is very good for baths, allowing massages and lathering, and is easy to handle and bathe. Casey does not like restraint, so a gentle approach is recommended. Please be mindful of your hands and the hose, as he will try to bite at the water or hose. Bathing him outside is recommended to help make things easier. A bucket can be used to rinse him off if needed. Request to Rescues: Casey (A2336591) is in need of rescue due to a urethral tear requiring surgical repair. A probable urethrostomy is recommended at the earliest convenience. While this is not considered an emergency due to the age of the injury, scar tissue may make surgical repair more difficult if delayed. Casey will also need management of his chronic ear infections, which may include allergy medications and topical ear treatments. This sweet boy would benefit from a comfortable place outside of the shelter where he can receive the medical care he needs and continue healing and live his best life.
