Karrah

Karrah is an adoptable female Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Karrah, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 01, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHD11. ID #A2094089 Staffordshire Mix | Female | Black/White weight: 44.2 lbs Intake: 9/1/26 ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Karrah is heartworm NEGATIVE/NAD. On 9/15, she developed sneezing and nasal discharge, consistent with CIRD/URI. She was moved to the treatment room and prescribed Doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 10 days. She has received DA2PP, Bordetella and Rabies vaccines, deworming and Advantage Multi. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Karrah is still just a puppy, and her notes describe an excited, wiggly young girl. She has a loose body, wagging tail and soft expression. She can be very jumpy and energetic on walks. In another interaction, she approached with a wiggly body and low ears and happily accepted treats. The noisy shelter environment can overstimulate her. When nearby dogs became vocal, Karrah began high-pitched barking, jumping and lunging, so staff covered her kennel to reduce stimulation. Her most recent note describes Karrah excitedly jumping up to greet her handler, then becoming wiggly and dropping into a play bow.
