A year and a half later, she is back at the shelter. ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Scarlet has generalized patchy hair loss/dermatitis. A skin scrape was negative, but demodex/flea allergy was considered, and she has been treated with Advantage Multi and NexGard Plus. 💔 Heartworm: HIGH POSITIVE Scarlet is spayed, microchipped and has received rabies, DA2PP-V and Bordetella vaccines and deworming. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Scarlet is timid and frightened in the shelter environment. She has been observed shivering with a low tail and worried expression, sometimes freezing completely and needing to be carried outside. Gentle baby talk and kneeling beside her have helped her slowly follow staff. When another dog barked at her, Scarlet became overwhelmed and shut down again. Her notes show a scared young dog who desperately needs a quiet, patient place where she can decompress and feel safe.
