Rebel is an adoptable male Australian Kelpie looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He is a young adult and medium in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 3 days left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Rebel, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

Evaluation Notes: 09/20/2026 - Small Group Interaction Dog displayed sociability by coming over for affection with a wagging tail and loose body. She was easily leashed and walked outside. She displayed sociability co-existing with other dogs and most interested to walk the yard indepdently. She greeted incoming dogs with a loose body and wagging tail. She was nervous of some dogs leaning backwards and able to adjust. She is most interested in handlers jumping up in my lap with a loose body and wagging tail. She was easily returned to kennel. Pretty good - almost perfect. What is the best thing about your Shelter Paws doggo? Rebel is sweet, good with all people, and did not have accidents inside the home as long as she's taken out often to go potty. She is very food motivated and is a super star car rider. Rebel is easy to walk and even bathe. What is something your Shelter Paws doggo could work on? Rebel gets highly excited with food (will eat very fast), still is working on 'sit' and will jump on people if too excited.
