More Info: I have been at the shelter since Aug 26, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHA33. Rex is a sweet, medium-energy pup who loves being around people. He was calm and relaxed during his car ride and enjoys exploring his surroundings. While he can pull a little on the leash, he's eager to learn and already knows how to sit. Indoors, Rex is gentle, curious, and well-mannered, though he may get excited and jump occasionally. He's very friendly, though he did react to one male who came too close too quickly. Rex hasn't had the chance to meet other dogs yet, so his dog-to-dog interactions are still unknown. This lovable boy is ready to find a home where he can continue to learn, grow, and share his affectionate personality. After his 9/2 neuter, Rex developed significant bruising and swelling around his surgical area. He was treated with carprofen, cephalexin and gabapentin. Rex also developed CIRD/kennel cough with green nasal discharge and coughing and completed 10 days of doxycycline. By 9/15, veterinary staff documented no clinical signs and CIRD resolved, allowing him to leave the treatment kennel. ❤️ Heartworm: NEGATIVE ✂️ Neutered: 9/2/26 ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Rex has repeatedly shown a wiggly body, wagging tail, soft expression and happy 'tappy feet.' He is easy to leash and has walked nicely on a loose leash. Staff describe him as calm and relaxed in his kennel, and he has kept his kennel clean. Outside, he remains relaxed, and he is very treat motivated. One especially sweet note says Rex takes his blanket from his bedding and cuddles up with it on the kennel floor, where he rests quietly.
