Larissa is an adoptable female Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. She is fully grown and medium in size. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 19, 2026. I am in kennel DA23. ID #A2096908 6-year-old Female Staffordshire Mix | Black 46 lbs Intake date: 9/19/26 ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Larissa is LOW HEARTWORM POSITIVE. Both front legs bow outward at the elbows, more noticeably on the right. Although there was initially concern about lameness, the veterinarian noted that she did not appear lame during the exam. She also has moderate to severe gingival hyperplasia (overgrown gum tissue), along with scars and callouses on her legs. No treatment was recommended at this time. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: No detailed shelter behavior evaluation was included in Larissa's available notes. What we do know is heartbreaking: after apparently being left behind at a stranger's property, Larissa was reportedly hiding underneath the home at night before being brought to BARC.
