Jean

Jean is an adoptable female Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is HEARTWORM NEGATIVE and has received rabies, DA2PP, Bordetella, deworming and preventatives. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Jean initially appeared timid, with a tucked tail and lowered head, but allowed staff to leash and handle her without issue. She has also been described as very energetic and friendly with volunteers and staff, greeting people with a loose body, wagging tail and floppy ears. At times she has been calm and quiet in her kennel and has walked on a loose leash. As her shelter stay has continued, Jean has become increasingly excited, with high-pitched whining/barking, jumping, pulling and occasionally mouthing the leash. She can become especially aroused around other dogs and when seeking attention in the runs.
