Blue is an adoptable male Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. He is a young adult and medium in size. ID #A2094332 2 years old ' Male Staffordshire Mix ' Gray/White Weight: 48 lbs intake date: 9/3/26 ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Blue is heartworm negative. On 9/15, he developed diarrhea and was treated with Panacur and metronidazole. On 9/16, Blue ripped a toenail completely off at the base on his left rear paw. He was prescribed Clavamox 375 mg twice daily and Rimadyl 100 mg once daily for 10 days. On 9/18, he developed nasal discharge, sneezing and hacking consistent with CIRD/URI and was started on doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 10 days. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Blue is struggling with overstimulation around other dogs and the shelter environment. He pulls toward other dogs and has displayed fixation, barking and growling during some encounters. But Blue's notes also show another side of him with people. Staff describe a wiggly, affectionate boy with a wagging tail and soft smile who leans into pets and waits at his kennel door for interaction. He is generally easy to leash and has shown that he can settle and walk more loosely with redirection. On 9/17, Blue was quiet in his kennel with a relaxed body and wagging tail as people walked past.
