Poppy

Poppy is an adoptable female Catahoula Leopard Dog looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with just one day left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Poppy, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

I need to leave with an approved transfer (rescue) partner, foster, or adopter by 09/27/2026 or I may be euthanized. Evaluation Notes: 09/11/2026 - Limited evaluation due to medical. No dog/dog observation at this time. Dog rolls onto her back with a loose body and wagging tail upon approach. As I open the kennel door, she approaches me with a lowered head and wagging tail where she is easy to leash and slowly walk outside. She greets passing handlers with a loose body and wagging tail. She is easy to return to kennel. Vet Exam Notes: 09/18/2026 - Recheck Removed bandage, metatarsal pad of the LF is missing top layer, not actively bleeding.
