Finn is an adoptable male Greater Swiss Mountain Dog looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. He is fully grown and large in size. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 03, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHD12. ID #A2094277 4-year-old male Greater Swiss Mountain Dog mix Tricolor / White DOB: 9/3/2022 Weight: 58 lbs Intake date: 9/3/26 ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Finn arrived with wounds on his face and ears, with the left ear more affected, as well as discharge from both eyes. He was diagnosed with conjunctivitis and treated with Clavamox 375 mg twice daily x14 days, Rimadyl 112.5 mg once daily x14 days, and Gentocin eye drops twice daily x10 days. Because Finn was initially extremely timid, staff noted difficulty administering his eye medication. On 9/19, Finn developed coughing and clear nasal discharge consistent with CIRD/URI and was prescribed doxycycline 250 mg once daily x10 days. ❤️ Heartworm NEGATIVE. ⸻ BEHAVIOR NOTES: Finn came into BARC very frightened and timid. But Finn has been showing encouraging progress. He began approaching staff with a neutral body and floppy ears, walking gently on a loose leash, and greeting at the kennel gate with a low wagging tail. He has paid little attention to other dogs while passing their kennels and runs. Most importantly, Finn eventually allowed staff to pet him while receiving a plush toy. He has also been observed quietly resting on his bed and keeping his kennel clean overnight. This worried boy appears to be slowly learning that people can be safe.
