A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She had soft eyes and a neutral tail wag while the runner easily clasped the collar around her neck. She was wary of the dog as they came up to greet her through the fence, flinching and jumping back at their quick approach. She entered the yard slowly with a tense body, tolerating a few dogs who came up to greet her. She was wary of face lingering and would turn away. A male husky enticed her for play, and she turned away while giving a slight lip curl. She spent the next few minutes calmly exploring the yard, continuing to tolerate other calm dogs who came up to her. She was very affectionate with the handlers, going up to them readily to solicit affection with a wiggly body. She relaxed as time passed and was much more tolerant of playful dogs approaching her. She was enticed for play on a few other occasions but would simply walk away instead of giving any warnings. She became social with the other calm dogs and spent quite a while calmly exploring the yard with a few. She remained social with calm dogs and extremely friendly with the handlers. She has a reported history of not getting along with an older dog in the home, giving teeth warnings, with no altercation between the two notated. She will need continued socialization. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REQ), MEDIUM ENERGY WITH KNOWN HISTORY OF AGGRESSION DISCLOSURE
