To adopt or foster, please complete the pre-screener form below. Inquiries sent directly to ACC will not receive a response. Pre-Screener Form Sheba is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Sheba has been observed to be kennel reactive while in care. Noted to push off the handler and off the wall while trying to get closer to the other dogs. Sheba responds well to a treat trail leading out of the kennel room. However, she is still observed to pull hard and push off her hind legs. Sheba's previous owner described her as social and affectionate. In the yard, Shebe will engage in games such as playing with balls and agility. Medically, Sheba is apparently healthy. Sheba arrived at MACC as an owner surrender. Her previous owner describes her as social and affectionate. In her previous home, Sheba was noted to alert bark at strangers and have poor impulse control. While in care, Sheba has been observed to be dog reactive. Noted to push off the handler and off the wall when trying to get closer to the other dogs. Due to the detailed behavior, we recommend an experienced adult only home that makes no trips to the dog park. My Boroughbreaker writes: We took Sheba, an adorable, sweet, and very social pup, to Central Park. She began the day as if she was seeing the world for the first time. She walked exuberantly to the park, anxious to see what was around every corner, darting back and forth, and taking in everything around her. Sheba is a very active and happy dog and she showed this is multiple ways. Once we got to the park, she was interested in all the people, dogs, and wildlife around her. Of all the dogs we have taken on a BoroughBreak to the park, she was the only one who paid attention to the birds and pigeons. She especially enjoyed running into the flocks of pigeons around her in order to disperse them. Sheba's cute little high-pitched squeal of a bark had everyone thinking she was a puppy and this garnered a lot of attention throughout the day. After lunch and a game of fetch, Sheba settled down on the grass in the shade and chewed on a toy for a while, then promptly fell asleep under the tree. She would occasionally awaken, notice that she was a little too far away from us for her liking, and do the "army crawl" to get closer before falling asleep again. Sheba is such an adorable and sweet girl and would make a wonderful family pet. She would benefit from leash training, learning some basic commands, and controlling her desire to jump up on those around her. What my friends at ACC say about me: I am playful and cute! I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy! I love to play and will need appropriate toys and positive outlets for my energy. I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.
