Superstar was returned to the Care Centers following a bite incident related to resource guarding behavior that resulted in two punctures. He has also been reported to escalate to snapping when uncomfortable, both in his previous home and while in the Care Centers. Outside of these concerns, Superstar has been social with staff, and his previous owner described him as social and affectionate. Medically, Superstar has dental disease and malocclusion. Superstar originally arrived at MACC as a stray with no known history. Recently he was returned due to the behaviors he was presenting in the home. Superstar has a bite incident pertaining to the previous adopter attempting to remove a bone from his possession. While in care, Superstar was noted to snap at a handler that attempted to unclip a leash from his collar. Due to the detailed behavior, we recommend an experienced adult only home. Meet Superstar! Superstar was found as a stray, and now he's ready to trade life on the streets for center stage in a forever home. True to his name, this sweet boy enjoys checking in with his people, happily accepts treats, and likes exploring at his own pace. All he needs now is someone to help him shine. My Ideal Home Superstar would do best with a patient adopter who will continue building his confidence through gentle, reward-based training. He enjoys taking things at his own pace and will thrive with a calm routine, positive experiences, and plenty of encouragement as he settles into home life. Good with Other Pets? Superstar may do best with slow, thoughtful introductions to other dogs, and positive reinforcement can help him build confidence around canine companions. Good with Kids? Because he can be sensitive to certain types of handling, Superstar would do best in a home with adults only. Things to Know Superstar walks beautifully on a loose leash, enjoys checking in with his handler, and is always happy to accept a tasty treat. He's looking for someone who will respect his boundaries and help him continue building positive associations through force-free, reward-based training. With a little patience and a lot of love, Superstar is ready for his happily ever after.
