Zeus is an adoptable male Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. He is senior and medium in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 4 days left, listed due to behavior. Adopting Zeus, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

Can you help? transferdas@rivco.org STAFF OBSERVATIONS 09/18/26 Dog was observed giving and receiving appropriate greetings, social, playful. 09/19/26 09:03 Upon approach dog was observed at front of kennel soliciting attention. Allowed handler to leash and walk to play-yard. Dog walks with slight pull on leash and did not react to other dogs while entering and exiting building. In play-yard dog was observed soliciting attention from handler and running around. Dog did respond to sit and paw command. Did not protest being leashed and rekenneled. Currently has one kennelmate. 09/23/26 13:11 Dog was loose and wiggly with kennelmate when handler approached, easy to leash, did not react to other dogs barking at him while walking through the kennel building or past the play yard where play group was happening, does pull a bit on leash, showed interest in stray cats but was easy to disengage, solicited attention from handler in play yard and from other people we walked by, showed interest in other dogs in receiving and ignored dogs barking/growling at him, did very well for rabies vaccine from vet staff, was able to rekennel easily with no issues. We couldn't adopt him because we have other dogs but we would've because he is caring and gets along well.\" 10/16/26 13:52 Dog participated in play group style today. Dog was conflict driven when a small scrimmage broke out in play yard. 10/27/26 12:08 Dog appears to be declining in shelter environment. Dog alarm barks continuously throughout observation despite soft coaxing. Dog appears to be doing well with multiple kennel mates at this time.
