Mariposa A5807730 (Intact) was at the front of the kennel with a neutral demeanor when the runner arrived. She allowed herself to be leashed with ease and exited the kennel on her own. Mariposa led the way to the yard where she was allowed to decompress prior to the assessment. Mariposa paced anxiously, requiring firm leash control to keep her in place. She stood with a slightly tense posture while tolerating handling of her ears, mouth, tail, abdomen, and paws. Mariposa showed no significant concerning behavior during the assessment; however, she appeared uncomfortable throughout the process. Once the session concluded, she was returned to her kennel without incident. An experience owner is strongly recommended, as Mariposa would benefit from someone who can patiently build her confidence and improve her tolerance for handling.
