A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' Quinn A5785012 was asleep when the runner approached her kennel, she woke up and greeted the runner with a relaxed demeanor, she was easy to remove, and she moderately pulled on leash. In the catch pen when she was introduced to the dogs her body was tense, her eyes were alert with dilated pupils, she growled and barked, her tail was low with no wag, and her ears were slightly pinned back. She was easy to collar and leash, she was also muzzled prior to entering to entering the yard. She entered the yard and lunged for one of the soft dogs who was laying down, she pinned her down and growled, the handler corrected her using the spray bottle, she ignored it but stopped as soon as she heard the shake can. She made eye contact with the handler to acknowledge her corrections. She sat next to the handler and was slightly anxious. She solicited affection from the handlers. She sat down when the handler asked her to sit. When another dog got close to solicit petting, she slightly tensed up and walked away. She was avoidant of the dogs after that and mostly tried to stay near the handlers. Overall, Quinn was defensive of the dogs and does not have a playstyle at this time. Behaviorally ok for public adoption, no large dogs required.
