Daisy is an adoptable female Anatolian Shepherd looking for a home at Los Angeles County - Lancaster in Lancaster, California. She is fully grown and medium in size. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She bypassed the other dogs and began to roam the yard to explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She continued to roam the yard and tolerate dogs approachingto sriffher. She did not retum the greetings at this time. After a short time, she began to approach and exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. She was approached and mounted by a male shepherd. She initially tolerated this and gave no corrections. The handlers had to steer him away for her a few times. Eventually she gave an appropriate correction to him for repeatedly mounting her. She remained calm and social for the rest of her time in the yard, but she appeared more comfortable around the calmer dogs. There were dogs playing during her time in the yard, but she did not engage in or entice any play. She did not approach the handlers in the yard and kept her distance. Daisy is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calmer dog. See handling assessment for further stipulations. The handler knelt and called to her, but she did not approach. The handler approached her and picked up her leash. She allowed the handler to pet her head with no reaction. When the handler checked her teeth, she tumed her head away. She allowed the handler to check her ears with no reaction. When the handler touched her back paws, she would pull them away. She allowed the handler to touch her tail with no reaction. She allowed the handler to touch and lift her front paws with no reaction. She displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler, but she is timid and does best with a go-slow approach. She was retumed to her kennel without issue. Due to her need for a slower approach and some mild handling sensitivities, she would likely do best in an adult only home or with older respectful kids. She will also need socialization to walking on leash.
