Max

Max is an adoptable male German Shepherd looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. He is senior and large in size. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Aug 26, 2026. I am in kennel DD16. ID #A2092267 Male | 12 years old | German Shepherd Mix | Black/Brown Weight: 66.8 lbs Intake date: 8/26/2026 Status: Rescue only ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL Max's medical record lists his condition as normal. Staff were unable to complete his heartworm test because Max became extremely distressed when his paws were handled. He received DA2PP, Bordetella and rabies vaccinations, deworming, pyrantel and Advantage Multi. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Max presents with a neutral body, softly swaying tail and soft open mouth. He was leashed without difficulty and walked nicely on a loose leash. Staff were also able to remove his leash, and he entered and exited his kennel without any issues. While his intake exam was stressful, Max seems to have calmed down once he settled in.
