Dog is at risk of humane euthanasia on 9/9/26 if no outlet is found by COB on 9/8/26 but may be humanely euthanized earlier if QOL declines. Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 9/1/2026 Approached k9 outside portion of kennel, k9 laying down on inside portion. Verbally coaxed k9 to back, k9 came instantly; seeking attention; fast tail wags; wiggly body. K9 allowed leash to be placed by hand, easy to remove from kennel; moderate pull on walk to clinic. In clinic k9 allowed all handling for several eye tests, skin scrape, and ear cleaning. Remained having soft wiggly body; seeking attention from others in room. Walked backed to kennel, k9 ignored barking dogs, easy to return and remove leash by hand. 8/31/2026 Verbally coaxed dog to outside half of kennel without issues. Offered treats, would take treats gently. Presented leash, would dodge leash placement. Walked to PY slowly while sniffing nose to ground with a high tail wag. Did a shake off of body then would explore PY with a soft tail wag. Approached handler, took treats in a mouthy manner. Did a shake off of body then would return to exploring. Handler called dog over, would come with a soft body, placed head onto handler lap, leaning in for petting. Appears to know \"SIT\" for treats. Handler walked around in PY, dog would continue to explore, came to handler when called over. Picked up leash & walked back to kennel slowly with verbal coaxing. Entered into kennel, offered more treats then slowly extended hand to remove leash, dog would lower head. Handler removed hand, would continue to speak softly to dog, offered more treats then continued to remove leash by hand. *Interested parties should be made aware of all medical notes. 8/29/2026 Stiffened and growled on my approach, softened once leashed, carried to truck. 8/29/2026 timid, quiet, walks on leash, allows all handling, allows all petting, eats hot dogs from floor but not hand, walekd to kennel well, kenneled with no difficulty, interacted well with male and female handlers during time of intake Medical Treatments 9/1/2026 09/01/26 12:13 Schirmer Tear Test: OS- 10 OD- 15 Fluorescein Eye Stain: OS- No stain uptake.
