Pre-Screener Form Charly is at risk due to behavior concerns at the care center. Charlyis noted to display fearful behavior at the care center due to sensitivity to loud noises and is noted to become reluctance to walk. Staff report kennel stress related behaviors such as frequent vocalization, jumping in her kennel, fecal smearing, and tossing her water bowl. In a more calmer setting Charly is noted to allow petting from familiar handlers displaying a loose body. Medically Charley is Apparently Healthy. Charly arrived at MACC as an owner surrender. Her previous owner states that she is shy and prefers contact on her terms. While in care, Charly has been observed to be highly fearful. Noted to have a tense body and maintain her distance with handlers. When a handler reaches towards her, Charly retreats quickly and hides behind the secondary handler. Due to the detailed behavior, we recommend an experienced adult-only home. Meet Charly! Charly was surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her, and now this sweet girl is looking for a patient family to help her feel safe and loved. While new situations can be a little overwhelming for her, Charly has shown that she is capable of forming bonds and enjoys gentle, low-pressure interactions with people who give her the time she needs. My Ideal Home Charly would thrive in a calm home with someone who understands that confidence takes time. She will benefit from a predictable routine, slow introductions, and positive reinforcement training to help her feel more comfortable in new environments. Long walks, enrichment activities, and puzzle toys can help keep her mind busy and support her overall well-being. Good with Other Pets? Charly has shown interest in playing with other dogs while on walks and does not react negatively to dogs in her care center assessments. Slow, thoughtful introductions are recommended to help her feel comfortable with any future furry friends. Good with Kids? Due to Charly's fearful nature and preference for approaching people on her own terms, she would do best in a home without children. Things to Know Charly is a sensitive girl who may need a little extra patience while adjusting to her new surroundings. She can be nervous when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations, but she appreciates gentle handling and the chance to make choices at her own pace. With a quiet home, a caring person, and plenty of encouragement, Charly can continue building confidence and become a wonderful companion.
