Sefi

Sefi is an adoptable female Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. She is fully grown and large in size. Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Sefi. I am a spayed female, white and gray Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 02, 2026. I am in kennel DD28. Weight: 89 lbs (overweight) Intake date: 9/2/2026 💔 Sefi came in with 2 other dogs when her owner went to the hospital. She suddenly lost her person, her home and everything familiar to her'and now shelter notes say she appears very depressed and isn't eating. ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Sefi is Heartworm NEGATIVE has inflamed skin, areas of hair loss/redness and a hive-like rash across her abdomen. The vet suspects resolving pyoderma and possible acral lick granulomas. She needs topical skin therapy, a weight-management diet and potentially bloodwork to rule out hypothyroidism. 💔 Most concerning is her condition on 9/4: Sefi was noted sitting in her kennel with her head down, shaking, eyes closed and refusing both wet and dry food. Staff described her as appearing very depressed. ⸻ 🐾 BEHAVIOR NOTES: Sefi is clearly scared and overwhelmed. She has shown a tense body, tucked tail, hard stare and low growling when uncomfortable, but staff have still been able to slowly leash her without issue. She walked slowly on a loose leash and entered and exited her kennel without problems. On 9/3, she was lying quietly on her bed with a relaxed body but wouldn't get up when leashed. This girl didn't arrive at BARC because her family simply didn't want her. Her owner went to the hospital, and Sefi's entire world changed overnight.
