Choppo

Choppo is an adoptable male Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. He is a young adult and medium in size. Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Choppo. I am a neutered male, gray Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Aug 17, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHD14. Weight: 54 lbs Intake Date: 8/17/2026 ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Choppo is heartworm NEGATIVE. On 8/30, he developed URI/CIRD symptoms including congestion, coughing and clear nasal discharge. He was moved to treatment and prescribed Doxycycline 250 mg once daily for 10 days. Choppo was neutered on 8/24 and received Carprofen following surgery. He has also received DA2PP, Bordetella, Rabies, deworming/Pyrantel and Advantage Multi. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Choppo is very friendly and greets staff with a loose, wiggly body and wagging tail. He also does a great job keeping his kennel clean overnight. This young guy is excited to get outside and can pull strongly on leash, jump against the gate and become vocal when excited or overstimulated. Importantly, multiple notes say he paid little attention to other dogs while passing their kennels and runs.
