We do not know what happened to Baby
The date this shelter listed for Baby has passed. Shelters often push these dates back, and many pets are adopted or pulled by a rescue first, so Baby may still be there. The shelter can tell you.
Baby is an adoptable female Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Philadelphia Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is fully grown and medium in size. She is listed on the shelter's euthanasia list, listed due to lack of space, and that date has now passed. Shelters often move these dates, so Baby may still be waiting. The shelter can confirm.
Baby ACCT-A-259311 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Baby must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH at 10AM. Should Baby's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Baby is an approximately five-year-old girl who came to ACCT Philly on August 22nd when her owner left her behind following an eviction. She is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves attention and is happy to be around people. She's easy to leash, walks nicely without much pulling, already knows sit, and is fully housetrained. She's also food motivated and enjoys being petted and handled. Baby can take a little time to feel secure with new faces or situations, but with some patience and a treat or two, she quickly becomes comfortable and relaxed. She has had both good and bad meets with other dogs, so she must meet any resident dogs before adoption. With the right person to help her build confidence, Baby has a lot of love to give and will make a wonderful companion. Due to her length of stay, Baby is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or adopter. Leash Skills: Loose wiggly body when I opened the door, loose mid tail wags, ears back, soft eyes. Slight difficulty leashing due to being wiggly and moving. Once leashed came right out and walked pulling moderately. Sociability: Would stay nearby in the yard. When I sat on the bench came over and sat on my feet, loose body, soft eyes, ears back. Allowed all handling and started to pretzel with the same loose body language. She is food motivated and takes treats a little snatchy so open palm is best. Play: No interest in the toys in the yard.
