Luna is an adoptable male American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He is a young adult and large in size. He is listed on the shelter's euthanasia list, listed due to lack of space, and that date has now passed. Shelters often move these dates, so Luna may still be waiting. The shelter can confirm.

Evaluation Notes: 09/09/2026 - Small Cohouse Interaction. Dog initially rushes into the yard with a tense body, raised hackles, and a high wagging tail while engaging in high energy play. She escalates play quickly and is easy to redirect when needed. She communicates for space appropriately with a tense body and raised hackles while lip licking. When the other dog ignores her communications for space, she escalates by air snaping and barking. She ignores another dog's communications for space by chasing them and biting their neck with a loose body and wagging tail. She is difficult to redirect and continues to initiate play with this specific dog. Her leash is secured and she is walked out of the yard. She is easy to return to her kennel. Luna and I started off our day by relaxing at home. She had so much fun exploring & running around the backyard, sniffing all the smells in the house, and got to see a curious kitty who was not scared of luna's enthusiasm. Luna liked to fetch but was easily distracted by her intriguing new environment, she just wanted to experience everything & anything! We visited Tractor Supply for treats, she wasn't liking what we had, not even my treats at home! The employees helped us find a treat she loved & took immediately, 4Health chicken & sweet potato jerky wraps! Note that haha! She was eager to receive a treat, pets & kisses from the cashiers on our way out. We went to Lowe's, where Luna got to pick out a toy, explore the garden center, and meet even more people! There was always someone who wanted to shower her in love, anywhere we went. We visited Helton Nature Park & Espada Park where Luna got to explore furthermore, she was incredibly excited and interested in her environment. Just such a happy girl. She got to take a nice walk along a river, see some squirrels scurry up a tree, and meet new people who told her how pretty she was. She was such a great passenger in the car. On slow roads, Luna loved to stick her head out the window, just sniffing the breeze, and taking it all in.
