Magneto

Magneto is an adoptable male Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at NYC ACC-Manhattan in New York, New York. He is a young adult and large in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to behavior. Adopting Magneto, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

Magneto has been observed to be dog reactive and to pull hard on the leash. He has been noted to fixate on dogs with a tense body and raised hackles, at times being difficult to redirect with treats or squeakers and requiring leash pressure to maintain distance. He also pulls hard toward dogs in crates. He is responsive to handlers, accepts treats. Medically, Magneto was recently treated for diarrhea and is otherwise healthy. What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. I can be slow to adjust to new environments.
