Didi

Didi is an adoptable male Beauceron looking for a home at NYC ACC-Queens in Ridgewood, New York. He is a young adult and large in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to behavior. Adopting Didi, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

In the care center, Didi has shown significant kennel stress and high arousal, including persistent spinning, bouncing off the kennel walls, jumping, barking, and hypersalivating. Didi has also shown fixation around food, becoming difficult to redirect from a handler's treat pouch, as well as hard pulling toward people and other kennels. Outside of the kennel, Didi is able to settle with distance, engage in training, and has shown the ability to walk with a neutral body and loose leash. Medically, Didi is apparently healthy. What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me. I would do best in a home with only adult humans.
