About Starlight

Starlight is an adoptable female Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Philadelphia Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is fully grown and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 4 days left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Starlight, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Starlight ACCT-A-260559 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Starlight must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6TH 10AM. Should Starlight's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet Starlight! This sweet, spirited girl is full of personality and has a whole lot of love to give. Starlight is a true people person who loves being around her humans. She has been described as very sweet, affectionate, and cuddly, and she absolutely loves leaning in for attention. Once she settles in, she may even convince you that she's a lap dog! Starlight is also a playful, energetic girl who loves to have fun. Ball is a favorite, and she gets wonderfully engaged when she has a toy to chase. She knows how to sit and is very treat-motivated, making training a great way to keep her busy while building a bond with her new family. On walks, Starlight is eager to explore and generally does well on leash, although she can pull when her excitement takes over. She's an enthusiastic girl who would benefit from continued work on leash manners and keeping all four paws on the floor when she's excited. Her adopters will have a fun, active companion who is ready to keep learning! Starlight has also had some positive interactions with other dogs, including good greetings and happily mingling in the yard. She can sometimes become a little forward or pushy during dog-to-dog interactions, so she would benefit from thoughtful introductions and supervision with canine friends to make sure everyone is comfortable. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion with plenty of personality, Starlight may be your girl! She's ready to find someone who will appreciate her big energy, enjoy her affectionate nature, and help her continue to learn and grow into the best version of herself. The handlers started trying to call the dogs apart and Starlight snapped at cookie butter and they started to scuffle. Handlers were able to separate and Starlight was removed from the yard. I was able to pick her up and place her in kennel however she may need a 2nd handler to go back. Color Level: Exp Blue Playgroup 9.3: Whining, mid tail wagging and ears to the side at gate greetings. Came in and immediately jumped on handler. Tolerant. Moves away, engaged in a little play.
