American Staffordshire Terrier (mix breed)
Urgent: 3 Days Left
Scheduled: October 27, 2026
Reason: Lack of Space
Hopper is an adoptable male American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at Philadelphia Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a young adult and medium in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 3 days left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Hopper, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.
Hopper ACCT-A-263082 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Hopper must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27TH at 10AM. Should Hopper's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Hopper is a sweet, nine-month-old puppy who came to ACCT Philly on October 1st. Though initially nervous in the shelter environment, he has shown his affectionate, playful personality as he has settled in. Hopper enjoys pets and attention, leans into people for affection, and already knows 'sit!' He is also a fan of toys and treats, making him fun to engage with during outings. Hopper has shown appropriate greetings with other dogs in playgroup, with bouncy movements, play bows, and attempts to initiate play. He has also shown that he can be a little unsure at times, especially when overwhelmed, but has been tolerant of handling and has shown a sweet, social side with staff. Like many puppies his age, Hopper has plenty of energy and will benefit from opportunities to play, explore, and continue learning. Due to his length of stay, Hopper is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or adopter.
