Coco

Coco is an adoptable female Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Coco, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Coco. I am a spayed female, black and tan Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 3 months old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jul 27, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHD08. Weight: 40.8 lbs Intake Date: 7/27/2026 ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Coco is currently being treated for CIRD/upper respiratory infection. After completing 15 days of doxycycline, she still has a mild cough, sniffling and clear nasal discharge. As of 8/25, she has been switched to Clavamox twice daily for 10 days. She remains bright, alert and responsive. Coco also came in with hair loss/dry, flaky skin consistent with dermatitis. ❤️ Heartworm negative 💉 Vaccinated & dewormed ✂️ Spayed 7/29 ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Coco is still basically a puppy'a wiggly, happy girl with an open-mouth smile and wagging tail. Multiple notes describe her walking nicely on a loose or semi-loose leash and greeting staff with a relaxed body. She can sometimes become vocal and jump at the kennel walls and door seeking attention. Importantly, staff have seen her settle and lie quietly on her bed when her kennel is covered, showing that she can decompress when the stimulation is reduced.
