Weight: 44.8 lbs Intake Date: 8/21/2026 Confiscated ' Cruelty Status: Rescue only Only 2 years old, Pancho arrived at BARC through a cruelty confiscation. ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Pancho is heartworm negative. Because of concern for possible previous trauma, Pancho was sedated for full-body X-rays. Imaging showed his right side of the heart is markedly enlarged. Possible causes listed include neoplasia or dilated cardiomyopathy, and further veterinary evaluation would be important. His fecal test was negative, and he received DA2PP, Bordetella, rabies vaccination, deworming and preventatives. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Sudden movements and people getting too close can make Pancho uncomfortable. But Pancho has also made encouraging progress. Staff have repeatedly been able to leash him without issue, and he has frequently walked on a loose leash to and from the runs. He appears to keep his kennel clean and quickly goes potty once outside. After one walk, Pancho began relaxing, sniffed his handler's hand and calmly returned to his kennel to eat. More recent notes describe him as neutral in his kennel and walking in and out without difficulty.
