Lady

Lady is an adoptable female Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. She is senior and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Lady, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Lady. I am a spayed female, black and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 9 years old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Aug 27, 2026. I am in kennel DB20. Weight: 49.2 lbs Intake date: 8/27/2026 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Lady was surrendered as a stray after a citizen reported that she was unable to walk. At intake, however, Lady walked into the shelter on a loose leash with good energy. Staff noted mild stiffness of the right hind limb and very mild muscle atrophy. Pelvic and knee radiographs were performed. The right knee showed: ' Crepitus ' Mild osteolytic and osteoproliferative changes ' Possible cranial cruciate injury A radiologist review and orthopedic consultation are still needed. Lady was prescribed Carprofen 100 mg once daily for 5 days. She is Heartworm NEGATIVE and has received DA2PP, Deworming, Rabies, Bordetella, Pyrantel and Advantage Multi. ⸻ 🐾 BEHAVIOR NOTES: Lady walked into intake with a loose leash and good energy. Staff noted no obvious lameness at that time, only mild stiffness. She needs further orthopedic evaluation and a safe place to rest while her knee is assessed.
