Pumpkin

Pumpkin is an adoptable male Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. He is still very young and medium in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Pumpkin, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

Meet sibling puppies Pipper & Pumpkin 🐾 Pipper ' ID #A2088923 13 weeks old | Female Staffordshire Mix | Black / White Weight: 20 lbs 🐾 Pumpkin ' ID #A2089017 13 weeks old | Male Staffordshire Mix | Black / White Weight: 21.6 lbs Intake date: 7/31/2026 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Both puppies arrived in normal condition but developed upper respiratory symptoms shortly after intake. Pipper had sneezing and clear nasal discharge, while Pumpkin had cloudy nasal discharge. Both were treated with Doxycycline 100 mg once daily for 10 days. On 8/17, both puppies completed treatment with no clinical signs observed, and their URI/CIRD was documented as resolved. They were moved out of the treatment kennel. Both have received: ' DA2PP ' Bordetella ' Rabies ' 1 year ' Deworming / Pyrantel ' Advantage Multi Both are currently documented as normal medically. ⸻ 🐾 BEHAVIOR NOTES: Pipper and Pumpkin are sweet, playful, people-friendly puppies who love attention, treats, toys and each other. They have been repeatedly described as wiggly, happy and affectionate, enjoying pets and interacting with families by licking hands and playing. They love playing together and with their plush toys. Pumpkin has also shown that he can be comfortable and playful when separated from his sibling. They are puppies, so they can be jumpy, vocal and mouthy during play, but staff have continued to describe them as friendly and affectionate.
