About Zor

Zor is an adoptable male Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Philadelphia Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is fully grown and medium in size. He is listed on the shelter's euthanasia list, listed due to behavior, and that date has now passed. Shelters often move these dates, so Zor may still be waiting. The shelter can confirm.

Zor ACCT-A-251035 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Zor must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER by Monday, October 12th 2026 at 10AM. Should Zor's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet Zor! This silly, playful boy has a big personality and an undeniable love for toys! Stuffies, squeaky toys, tennis balls'you name it, Zor is ready to play. He's a fun-loving guy who knows how to sit for treats, enjoys exploring the outdoors, and has been described by volunteers as a very sweet, happy boy. He's also been friendly with people, greeting them with soft eyes and a wagging tail, and has tolerated handling well during his time in our care. Zor does have some significant challenges when it comes to other animals. He becomes highly fixated on dogs and cats, often stopping to hard stare, bark, and lunge when they are nearby. During a previous dog introduction, he fixated on the other dog and bit her tail. He was also involved in a serious altercation with another dog while roaming loose, during which he inflicted a bite wound to the other dog's back and had to be tased by police to separate him. Because of his history and ongoing reactivity, Zor is looking for a rescue placement that can provide the appropriate management, structure, and behavior support he needs to succeed. Zor will need to be the only pet in an adult-only home, with no children. He would benefit from experienced handlers who understand dog reactivity and can help him navigate the world at a comfortable distance from other animals. While his challenges are significant, his playful nature and enjoyment of toys offer great ways to build engagement and enrichment with his people. If your rescue has experience working with dogs who struggle around other animals and can offer Zor the right environment, this sweet, toy-loving boy deserves a chance to thrive. Could your organization be the fresh start he's been waiting for? Videos: Meet Timestamped Zor!
