Chamxi is an adoptable female Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Philadelphia Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is fully grown and medium in size. Should Chamxi's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Chamxi is a happy, playful girl who came to ACCT Philly as a stray on October 5th. She is a friendly, affectionate pup who enjoys spending time with people, leaning in for pets, and soaking up attention. Chamxi has lots of energy and loves running around the yard, playing with toys, and chasing a ball. She knows sit, has shown good leash skills, and appears to be housetrained. She can be a little mouthy when taking treats, so offering them on an open palm is best. Chamxi has met other dogs at the shelter, with her responses varying between interactions. She has shown some pushy behavior during greetings but has also been able to move away on her own. She may benefit from continued support with canine social skills. She would love an active home where she can enjoy plenty of playtime and attention. Due to her length of stay, Chamxi is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or adopter. Very easy to handle. Smiling pup. Loves toys. Housetrained. Loves fetch. Well-behaved. 10/20: Very easy on leash, very sweet. No jumping or pulling. Per volunteer 10/27: Excited in kennel, jumping and barking when I walked by. Easy to leash and pulled lightly walking through. In the yard she was very happy to play with toys by herself. Knows sit command. Appears housetrained. She is a bit mouthy with taking treats so open palm is best. Took her for a run in the cemetery which she enjoyed. She went back into the kennel easily and was easy to remove her leash. A friendly, happy girl. Per staff 10/21, playgroup: Steer test: 5/5 with water and 3-4/5 with can. Ears to the side, mid to high tail with tip wagging. Ears pasted back, moving away. Kept going to the fence and pacing. Per staff 10/12, playgroup: Steer Test: 3/5 with water and 4/5 with can. Pushy and forward with greetings, able to move away on her own. Attempted to mount Gina and did not take her correction. Per staff 10/9: Kennel Presentation: At the front of the crate with soft eyes, ears to the side, loose body and mid tail loosely wagging Leash Skills: Easy to leash and came right out of kennel. Mildly pulled on the leash. Sociability: Leaned into all handling with loose body, ears to the side and sat in between my legs even after I stopped petting. Play: Picked up a stuffy and ran around the yard. Dog Interaction: Met Handsome. Good greetings, able to move away on her own. Return to Kennel: Slight hesitation going back into kennel. Once in, I was able to remove leash with hand. Color Level: Exp Gold Per finder 10/5: Not very friendly with other dogs. Chill.
